Our Philosophy
Our team is dedicated to providing an outstanding culinary experience for your next special event. We are committed to quality and consistency by using the best procured products and creating as much of our menu items from scratch as possible.

Our custom and unique smoked and BBQ meats and chicken are a must to serve at your next event. Or don't forget to try our unbelievable seafood, lamb, game & pork entree's like Salmon Asiago or Stuffed Pork Tenderloin wrapped in Prosciutto. We will also prepare entrees for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and other special dietary needs.

We strive to use local farmers, ranchers and cheese makers to get as much of what we serve locally, fresh and in season. Berries from the Willamette Valley, pears and apples from the orchards of Hood River, gourmet cheese from our local Central Oregon farms. We strive to find the best for you.

Your event is handled meticulously, professionally and with pride. Our company knows exactly how to pull from the best suppliers, partners and service staff. We look forward to working with you to customize the menu and details for a perfect event.

Company History
The Left Handed Chef was founded in Central Oregon in 2006. Having over 27 years of experience in customer service and support and having traveled significantly, experiencing first hand (in the kitchen) passionate, traditional foods from the American South, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Mexico and others, Roy, a left-handed chef, decided is was time for a catering company that had its clients best interests in mind. In addition to his own culinary expertise and customer care philosophy, Roy has hired some of the best event and creative organization people in the Northwest.

Roy has a deep and simple belief: If you do what you absolutely love, what you're absolutely passionate about, the business will thrive. Boy has it ever!  As an example of how the company has grown, prior to this web site, all of The Left Handed Chef's business was by "word of mouth", so to speak, and the business continues to grow rapidly. Company Equipment and Expertise
The Left Handed Chef's equipment is top-notch. Roy researched mobile kitchens and all that's involved, BBQ pits and other support equipment over a two year period before finally settling on the top builders/suppliers. Its mobile kitchens are built by the company that supplies NASCAR competitors and caterers with mobile units. And, while not its sole focus, The Left Handed Chef's BBQ quality has earned a reputation as some of the best ever experienced. Its 3,000 LBS stainless steel smoker is build by Ole Hickory Pits, the Southern Missouri award winning pit builder that supplies Mike Mills, "The Legend" with his equipment. Mike is a top BBQ trophy winner year-over-year - look him up! He's an honored man in Memphis and the world of BBQ. Roy's spent time at Mike's restaurant in Southern Illinois, hearing his techniques and suggestions, and learning from his Pit Master. The Ole Hickory Pit's efficiency and use of real spilt wood (In our case: Hickory, Apple and Cherry) make the quality, consistency and capacities simply unmatched by trailer towed or drum units.
